Lashing and stowage of project- and heavy lift cargo with lashing certificate

With our competent team we take care of your cargo. By means of accuracy and on-the-spot support we ensure your cargo to get safe to its destination.

Hanse Survey handles your cargo according to the highest standards in industry. As a guideline we apply the CSS-Code (Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing)) by IMO.

Through precise calculation and on-site inspection we can offer you a custom-made lashing concept. Among other things cargo stowage, safety, time and cost efficiency are taken into account.

Depending type of cargo and vessel, we proceed individually. In case of heavy lift cargo we provide standardized lashing concepts and on request a bedding recommendation.

We care for your cargo during the complete process of loading. While that we especially turn our attention to the proper use of the lashing material and equipment. Together with the ship’s command we develop an effective plan to get your cargo set forth.

At the end of each loading a lashing certificate and a comprehensive lashing report is written by the surveyor on the spot.

Inspection of cargo spaces prior loading

  • hanse-survey.de

Do you transport sensitive cargo? In this case we recommend undertaking an inspection before loading.

The surveyor on site will check all loading spaces / cargo holds / tanks and states whether they correspond to your requirements or special requirements of the cargo. Here we especially look out for cleanliness, aridness and contamination through former residues of cargo. In addition to the visual inspection we also perform a hose water test, if necessary, in order to make sure that the hatch covers of the loading spaces are watertight.

Here Hanse Survey proceeds with the highest accuracy, because already the smallest complication or inattentiveness can lead to damaged cargo. If the situation requires, we retrieve samples after consulting you and forward them to closer analysis.

It is self-evident that a report is produced after an undertaken inspection and is forwarded to the customer.

Draught survey for bulk cargo

  • hanse-survey.de

For the consignee or the recipient it is of special interest to know the exact amount of cargo which is on board and which is shipped with a Bill of Lading. This is difficult with “shapeless“ liquids or bulk cargo. That is why we recommend to perform a “Draught Survey“ or an ullage inspection of the cargo tanks.

Before beginning respectively after the end of the loading our surveyors inspect the cargo holds or tanks of the vessel. This inspection is carried out by a certified surveyor appointed by the Chamber of Commerce (IHK Emden). During this process the amount of cargo is calculated in consideration of temperature, density, trim, bending etc.

Subsequent claims for damages or discrepancies can only be avoided by the use of a professionally performed “Draught Survey“, since the volume of the cargo spaces respectively the tanks are exactly known.

If desired we retrieve samples of the cargo and forward them to a specialized laboratory for analyses.

Bunker Survey
  • hanse-survey.de
  • hanse-survey.de

Since commodity prices are permanently increasing it is of special interest to determine the exact bunker quantity on board, since it accounts for more than half of the operational costs of a vessel in service. Losses, for the owner or charterer, caused by incomplete delivery are to be avoided by means of the bunker survey conducted by an independent expert.

Hanse Survey will monitor the bunkering of your vessel and supervise the procedure. After determining the remaining bunkers on board, samples of the new bunker quantity are retrieved and stored. Bunker quantity in tons, density and temperature of the bunkered fuels are determined.

The determination of the bunker quantities contributes extensively to operating the vessel or your fleet more economically.
